This is an old Marlin 336 RC in .30-30 Win. SN is E65XX which dates it to 1948, the first year of production on the 336 if I am not mistaken. It is in original form, no extra holes drilled in the receiver. To my eye, it looks to be the original factory finish.

I inherited my grandfathers Marlin 336 RC in 30-30 caliber about 3 yrs ago and avidly use it for deer hunting every year. I have yet to miss, or even fire a second round using Hornady American Whitetail ammo. Can't complain for a 48 yr old gun bought in 1967 and kept behind the seat of a pickup for 40 of them.

The seriel number begins with Z. I am unable to post a picture at the moment but the gun is 90-95%. Excellent wood and bluing.

It is shooting 2 feet high and 1 foot to the right and when I put my borelight in the barrel it shows the sight align up perfectly, so when I take it back out and try it its still doing it. Any help would be appreciated.
